1. What does the Elgin, Middlesex, Oxford Local Training Board do?
We gather local labour market information and bring partners together to work on local solutions to issues raised through the review of the labour market information. All of our work is done in consultation with local community members.
2. How can I get one of your publications?
Electronic versions of our publications are posted on-line and may be downloaded in pdf format in either French or English. If you would prefer a hard copy of a publication, contact the office at (519) 672-3499 or by email info@localboard.on.ca
3. Where should I look for labour market information and/or information about training programs in the Elgin, Middlesex, Oxford area?
The Inventory of Programs and Services (IPS) link on our home page will give you information on the programs and services leading to employment for our area. Links for labour market information and other resources are found under "links".
4. Where can I find information about apprenticeship in Elgin, Middlesex, Oxford?
The local apprenticeship office for the Ministry of Training,
Colleges, and University is located at 217 York St. in London
. Additional information on trades is available on the Ontario
Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) web site www.theapprenticeshipnetwork.com.
If you are currently a secondary student, check with the guidance
office at your school. If you are out of school and out of
work but age 24 or under, contact your local Job Connect office.
